The Abandoned & Forgotten Ones
cats cats

When people abandon their cats here it breaks the hearts of these little furry ones.
It breaks our hearts, too!
One abandoned cat is too many.
Several simply is a shame:

These two sweet girls came in to board with us several years ago. They were abandoned only a few months later when their humans, who had moved out of the country, stopped communicating with us and stopped paying for boarding. One passed away due to renal failure a few years later at the age of 15. The other was with us for almost 8 years, just recently passing away due to renal failure at the age of 18.

These two beautiful cats came to us from a person desperate to board them due to allergies. They were two great cats. Unfortunately their human stopped paying for them a year after they arrived. We lost him to heart failure in 2011. She succumbed to chronic kidney failure in 2014, almost 10 years after being abandoned.

Four cats, including a mother and two of her kitties, arrived a few years ago from out of the country as their human was in the process of relocating elsewhere in world. Unfortunately the person simply walked away and abandoned these four lovely cats leaving the cats broken hearted. Sadly, the mother has passed away recently due to complications from pulmonary edema and her cats miss her terribly.

Abandoned Cats
This handsome guy was one of our very first long-term temporary care boarder kitties. He was a very handsome fella, and so sweet. His human dropped him off and drove away, never to be heard from again. Summer turned to fall, fall turned to winter. He would sit and watch out the window, no doubt expecting his human to return for him as they had promised. They never came back. He died that winter of heart failure.

To date these Abandoned & Forgotten Ones have cost us $16,700.94 in out of pocket veterinary bills, prescriptions, food, etc. (not including our time!).

We do what we do for the love of cats. When owners abandon their cats we love them and care for them as if they were our own. But it does put a huge strain on our own budget. So we have set up a process for our friends to help us defray some of these costs. If you would like to help, please select the amount (below) and whether this is a Memorial or an Honorarium and then click on the Pay Now button.

We thank all our dear friends for your support!
